Bison HelmetI am so proud of how the Bison played with no fear against a tough Division I-A opponent in Rutgers University. The atmosphere was outrageous and it was a great experience for the team. Our level of confidence was extremely high. We will use this game as a barometer to measure the level of play we must display every week. Our goal is to be the best team possible. We control our destination and we truly believe we can be great.

Moving forward, the game this upcoming Saturday against Norfolk St. will be tough. NSU is the defending MEAC Champs and they are picked to finish first in the MEAC this year.  We will continue to work on our fundamentals to increase our chances of victory.  All the small details must be addressed and everyone must do their job. This will be considered Championship week for us, and we will step up to the challenge!

Having our fierce and ferocious leader Keith Pough back in the mix is definitely exciting. His level of intensity produces the big plays that we need in order to finish strong this season.  Our defense is filled with great defenders, so once Pough is added in that equation, we become so much better.

Our new freshmen are really getting some quality experience. The future for the Bison looks very good. On offense we have Jamie Cunningham, William Parker, Jonathan Booker and Matt Colvin that’s doing a phenomenal job. On defense we have Tommy Boozer, Delvin Rollins, Damon Gresham and Joseph Dillard.  These young Bison are making the transition from high school to the wonderful campus of Howard University. They have shown that they are able to adjust to the college environment on and off the field.

I hope to see our Bison family support us this weekend at Norfolk State.
